 Description
Nessa was rescued from the Baldwin Park shelter in Los Angeles with 48 hours left to live. Though she was young, healthy and passed her temperament test with flying colors, this young dog was going to die for no other reason than lack of space. She was rescued by Shadow's Fund and has been fostered by Co-Founders Jill & Cody. Nessa is a larger than life beauty that does everything with joy and exuberance. She carries a Kong toy in her mouth at all times and has earned the nickname "Roo" for her characteristic charge while bellowing a loud and triumphant Roo sound through her Kong.

On Friday evening, April 29th, Jill returned home to find her laying in the back yard paralyzed. There was no sign of injury. The diagnosis was spinal compression and it is assumed that she injured herself while running and playing, likely colliding at full speed into another dog or object. Nessa had emergency back surgery and is going to require extensive rehabilitation care.
